Head of Contract Research

Coming from an academic research setting, but encouraged by a vast experience in project, partnership and contract research management, I had the opportunity to start off as business developer, step up to business development manager and eventually general manager of reMYND’s Contract Research Organisation, within a time course of one year.

Definitely a steep but rewarding learning curve, comprising operations, people and client management of an on-site in vivo preclinical study facility and an off-site breeding facility; client development (marketing & sales, customer relationship management); business development (expansion of service offering in line with anticipated future needs of our existing and prospective client base, expansion to VS and Japan, supervision of local business developer in VS and Japan); budget, resources and cash planning, P&L – all learned on the spot.

In 3-4 years time, I could achieve – together with my team and colleagues – the step-up of reMYND’s Contract Research Organisation from a staggering business to a professional, global player, serving 7 of the 10 top pharma as well as the largest biotech’s; with first clients in Japan; topping the best sales year ever till then.
